Fossils

Yields such Plant fossils (phytolites) as Sphenophyllum, Pecopteris, Fascipteris, Protoblechnum, Gigantopteris, Gigantonoclea, Rhizomopsis, Lobatannularia, Schizoneura and Taeniopteris, whose features are similar to those of the Gigantopterides flora occurring in the Luoping and Xuanwei Coal Series of South China, belonging to part of South China-type of the late-stage Cathaysia flora. There are found only two genera of Coral fossils represented by Liangshanophyllum and Aridophyllum both of which represent zone fossils or important members of the Wujiaping Fm in South China whose age is of the early stage of the Lopingian Epoch.
